The Emirates Thalassemia Society organized an awareness day at the Commercial Bank of Dubai by distributing awareness brochures and giving an interactive medical lecture to the employees of the bank. The lecture was delivered by the medical advisor of the Society, Dr. Essam Dohair educating the employees about the fatal disorder and encouraging them to undergo a pre-marital examination. The lecture was also telecasted Live online for the entire intra network of employees of the bank. Mr Abdul Baset Mohammed Merdas, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, gave an introductory speech about the society highlighting the services it provides to support Thalassemia patients and the role awareness it plays in the community to reduce new born infants with Thalassemia. He also thanked the management of Commercial Bank of Dubai for their constant support to the association and presented an Appreciation Trophy to Mr. Amer Mohamed Makki, Head of Social Responsibility - General Administration for their constant gratitude and support for Thalassemia in UAE.
