Under the generous patronage of the Wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan, Chair Person of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, a grand celebration was organized on the occasion of the 43rd UAE National Day with the UAE Thalassemia patients and their families.
A large number of famous Emirati artists and media professionals also participated in the ceremony, namely: the Goodwill Ambassador and actress Badriya Ahmed, the artist Fatima Jassim, the female sports reporter Hessa Al Riyasi, the social media star Ali Al Jasmi, and the media figure and Emirati model of the heritage fashion Rafia Al-Hajsi all added stars to the mega celebration.
The ceremony included many traditional performances by the students from Al Awir Primary School , Dubai International Private School and Al Bara’a Kindergarten, who performed folkloric shows and folk dances. Alongside the ceremony, the patients enjoyed the activities and recreational games specially arranged for them, such as henna designing, photography with falconers and drawing on raw materials. Various forms of heritage activities like decorating heritage sticks, raffles draws, and lots of gifts distribution was organized for all the attendees.
Mrs. Khalida Khammas - Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Secretary and Executive Director of the Society, confirmed that the Emirates Thalassemia Society seeks through this ceremony to draw a smile on the faces of patients and uplift their patriotic spirit, and was immensely satisfied with the response from all the people related to the event.
