With the immense support of Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al-Nahyan, Chair Person of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, Dr Sheikh  Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor of His Highness President of The State, hosted a brainstorming workshop of  Emirates Thalassemia Society in Umm Al Shajar Island. The Society organized this trip for the Thalassemia patients for four days to prepare for the future Second Emirates Thalassemia Social Forum For Arab Region. The participating patients were from the different UAE Emirates and Oman during which a workshop was organized along with the society Board Members and the medical advisor of the Society. This workshop aimed to discuss on the forth coming forum to gather creative ideas from the patients themselves to achieve the following goals:

1- Highlight the social and psychological aspects which are necessary for the patients and their families.

2- Overcome all obstacles by balancing the medical and social aspects of Thalassemia. 

3- Exchange the experiences among the Arab Nations which will be in the interest of the patients.

4- Present the successful experiences of different countries and benefit mutually. 

5- Relieve the suffering of Thalassemia patients by caring for them socially. 

6- Make the community aware that the patient cannot continue their lives just through medical treatments, but they have several other issues, the most important of which are the moral, material and social support along with rehabilitation and training to live a normal healthy life.
