Emirates Thalassemia Society announced today that it has received a donation of 200,000 dirhams from Dubai Islamic Bank, with the aim of supporting Thalassemia patients and alleviating their suffering during the Corona pandemic.
His Excellency Abdul Baset Mohammad Merdas, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the management of Dubai Islamic Bank for its commitment to its social responsibilities, explaining that this support provided by the bank comes as a realistic translation of the concerted efforts in the UAE community to advance charitable and humanitarian work and achieve the directions and vision of the state. Humanity in providing services that reflect positively on the social and human levels for all those in need without discrimination of color, gender, religion or gender.
He explained: "We are pleased to be able, through this generous donation, to continue to work to provide support for all Thalassemia patients who live on blood transfusions, and who suffer in this difficult stage due to the severe shortage of blood units within the blood banks in the country as a result of the exceptional circumstances imposed by the Covid pandemic. 19 ".
His Excellency Merdas concluded his statement by saying: “We are happy that compassion and humanity constitute the authentic features of the UAE society, which helps us to continue campaigns to encourage blood donation at the state level to save the lives of thalassemia patients, educate and guide those who are about to get married to conduct pre-medical examinations, and help Thalassemia patients.
