Emirates Thalassemia Society launched a fundraising campaign on social media

A 3-month fundraising campaign was launched  through  their social media platform  with the aim of spreading health awareness about Thalassemia and supporting the work of the non profit organization.

The wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State , Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif  Al Nahyan, Chair Person of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, said: “Through this campaign, we are looking forward  to increasing the society’s capabilities in providing the best high-quality services and distinguished care for all UAE patients.

Her Highness further added: “The Emirates Thalassemia Society, since its official launch in 1997, has been keen  to make vigorous efforts to help Thalassemia patients morally and socially and to provide them with full support, and to communicate with similar international associations and institutions  in order to exchange information and experiences, encouraging and following up medical and therapeutic research related to Thalassemia, and preparing programs To raise awareness and health education in the community to limit the spread of disease and to know how to prevent it.

Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha concluded her statement by saying: “Thousands of patients, from all nationalities, have benefited from the services of the Emirates Thalassemia Society as part of the social support programs that the association adopts for the benefit of thalassemia patients in the various emirates of the country. We look forward to continuing work and making all efforts to reach a healthy society. All of its members enjoy health and happiness. "

For his part, His Excellency / Abdul Baset  Merdas, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, said: “We are proud of the society’s continuous ability to support Thalassemia patients in the country, in line with the wise leadership’s humanitarian approach that is keen to extend a helping hand to all in need without discrimination.

We hope that through this campaign, we will be able to continue working to provide moral support for all patients. And continuing campaigns to encourage blood donation at the state level with emphasis on the importance of blood donation to sustain the lives of Thalassemia patients, educating and directing those who are about to get married to conduct pre-medical examinations, and encouraging Thalassemia patients to be productive elements in society and their participation in building the nation by providing education and work opportunities for them ".
