Under the directives and generous patronage of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan, Chair Person of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, in line to the initiatives of the Emirates Thalassemia Society in the Year of Tolerance, the Society launched an awareness campaign about  Thalassemia under the slogan "Prevention ... makes life beautiful".

 This is a massive community awareness campaign planned for the government and expat employees working in all the government offices all across UAE. We design special and easy to understand Thalassemia awareness booklets, brochures, and posters for the employees, which is also usually distributed to the on goers visiting these government offices. This is followed by a fully-fledged Thalassemia lecture and interactive session for the employees which is executed by Thalassemia Specialist which we gather from different Thalassemia centers in UAE.

This community awareness campaign is a great way to gather maximum number of serious employees from all the government offices in UAE in a very short period of time. By collaborating with most of the important bodies and Executive Counsels for the seven emirates, we officially and very strongly urge the employees to participate and listen to the awareness message that we ought to spread. Different days have been proposed by the different emirates so far to hold a Thalassemia Awareness Day in one of the government offices, inviting and circulating the information about this Thalassemia campaign in order to encourage the employees to attend the lectures and participate in onsite counselling by our selected representatives. Thalassemia informative brochures are distributed and queries are answered on our strategically placed stands which accompanied by roll ups. Her Highness Sheikha  Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan, Chair Person of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, urged the necessity of intensifying awareness campaigns and reaching all governmental and private bodies, departments and institutions throughout the country to spread health awareness amongst the community members and emphasize the importance of pre-marital test to prevent Thalassemia by combining efforts between the society and all the governmental and private institutions fulfill our objectives, which is to limit the spread of Thalassemia.
